Investigates allegations of child abuse and neglect in the areas of physical, emotional, sexual and imminent risk.
Determines the need for ongoing services under the eligibility for criteria and jurisdiction of the Child Protective Service Law and Juvenile Act.
Initiates referrals to supportive services in order to alleviate risk and strengthen the family.
Adolescent Services:
Responds to concerns of adolescent behaviors relative to truancy, runaway, incorrigibility and status offenses.
Involves the adolescent in a supportive services program in order to modify disruptive behaviors that challenge the child's ability to function in the home and community.
Provides for out-of-home placement in the least restrictive environment to meet the adolescent's needs, to intensively work on modifying the problem behavior and enable to return to the family home.
Provides an alternative school setting that is designed to educate and counsel the child through problems that prohibit their ability to attend regular school.
Creates an opportunity for adolescents to experience positive mentoring and peer relationships while performing community service through participation in the Adolescents Against Chronic Truancy (AACT) Program
Case Work:
Assess the ongoing safety of the children involved with the Agency by conducting home visits, phone calls and collateral contacts with supportive services, agencies and the local community.
Develops a Family Service Plan in collaboration with the family that clearly defines goals which will enhance family functioning and alleviate the concerns that brought the family to the Agency's attention.
Makes referrals to supportive services and monitors the family's progress toward goals
Advocates for the family to ensure needs are met.
Provides alternative placements for children when necessary until reunification with the family can be achieved.
Foster Care:
Responsible for the recruitment, training and administration of foster care homes within our community.
